The University of Alicante, through Healthy University And the Ecocampus Office, has presented within the framework of the European Sustainable Mobility Week new initiatives aimed at promoting shared transport between the university community. The main innovation is the launch of the mobile application TRIBBU, available free of charge to students and staff of the institution.

The app allows you to contact people who live, work or study nearby to organize shared trips, reducing costs and contributing to more sustainable mobility. In addition, it incorporates the Energy Bonus, a system endorsed by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) that rewards those who share a car with 1 euro for every 25 kilometers and passenger, transforming energy savings into direct economic benefits.

The program also included the “Bring your bike” activity, held on Friday, September 19 at the Plaza de la Equality. During the day, the MyBike mobile van workshop offered free reviews and advice to those who came to the campus with their bicycles.

On the occasion of the European Mobility Week, the UA has joined the “Together on the road” challenge, which takes place between September 16 and October 16. Users who register the most shared trips on the application can participate in prize draws such as an iPhone 16, a PlayStation 5, a Nintendo Switch Lite, a Fitbit smartwatch or a JBL Bluetooth speaker. Every five cumulative trips are awarded a participation voucher, and invitations to new users also generate additional rewards.

The University of Alicante complements these actions with the challenge of 10,000 daily steps, valid until December 25 through the StepUp app, with the objective of also promoting walking as a healthy and sustainable alternative.
