In a world where daily commutes represent an important part of polluting emissions, every free seat in a car that is occupied is an opportunity to reduce these impacts and contribute to building a cleaner and healthier planet for all. That is why, within the framework of World Environment Day, Hoop Carpool Remember that Move responsibly not only is it possible, but also cost-effective, accessible, efficient and transformative.
The need to adopt more sustainable solutions in everyday mobility is no longer just an ethical or environmental issue: it is also becoming a regulatory requirement. Recently, the Congress approved the Draft Sustainable Mobility Act, which will force all companies with more than 500 employees to develop sustainable transport plans for their workforce. This measure aims to reduce traffic, CO₂ emissions and improve air quality in cities.
In this context, Hoop Carpool, the Spanish startup that promotes carpooling (or carsharing), is positioned as a key partner in anticipating this legislation. Your application will allows companies, hotels, universities and municipalities to promote car sharing for daily commutes, with a digital solution that does not require new infrastructures and adapts to users.
Currently, 75 organizations in Spain are already registered with Hoop Carpool, and at least 25% of them are actively using the platform as part of a corporate mobility plan. In the busiest companies, more than 1,000 trips are shared per day, contributing to a total of 5,000 weekly trips nationwide.
Thanks to this use, in 2024 505,388 kg of CO₂ emissions have been avoided and so far in 2025, there have already been 285,425 kg more environmental savings. Every Hoop Carpool user save an average of 600 euros a year in gasoline, a figure that is especially important in view of the volatility of fuel prices.
Every day, in the Balearic Islands, thousands of workers in the hotel sector face mobility challenges resulting from split shifts, rotating schedules and lack of access to efficient public transport. This scenario not only generates high transportation costs for employees, but also affects their quality of life and their ability to reconcile personal and work life.
And that's how it's born 'Hotels on the Move', a pioneering initiative promoted by Hoop Carpool, as a solution to the mobility problems of workers in this sector, so that they can move to their workplace in a more economical, sustainable and accessible way.
